The steel that Henckels have used is Cronidur 30. The blade is formed from one single piece of steel. The steel undergoes the patented Henckels Friodur process which confers lasting benefits to the steel. This high performance steel ensures long-lasting sharpness, excellent resistance to corrosion and blade stability.
The handles are made from untreated oiled Makassar ebony wood. This is paired down elegance taken to the highest level of precision and tactile sensation. The knives are finished by the engraving of the Henckels emblem on the tang. The ergonomics of the design are superb, allowing for greater feel and precision when handling the knives.
The design of the Henckels 1731 knives was created by Milan based Matteo Thun. He has created a successful blend of form, function and tactile delight.
