The Kai Pure Komachi Japanese Bread Knife has a 21cm blade with a 10.8cm handle, and is made specifically to slice bread.
This Japanese Bread Knife has a patented scalloped edge which means from the centre of the blade, the scallops are slighlty slanted to the outside in opposing directions. This is very practical as it cuts with every move rather than tearing and reduces the amount of crumbs significantly.
These Japanese knives have blades made from top quality steel which has been given a coloured coating, similar to Teflon. This coating is very practical as it helps the food slide off the blade once cut.
